Dreams Become Nightmares Of Regret When Not Pursued.

Live-Your-Dream

The saddest conversion to have at the twilight of your life is to start talking about all the things that could have been. The would have, could have, and the should haves are all results of choices and opportunities not gone after.

Dreams are the desires that will never come true until you take them from the imaginary and bring them into the reality. They are brought into reality by writing them down and putting a date when it will be acquired.  When we add the third dimension of time to whatever you are dreaming about you now make it tangible and obtainable. There are other steps necessary for acquiring it but this one is important. If you never add a date you want to have it then you probably don’t truly want it. Somethings may be more exciting just dreaming about them. While others don’t allow us to sleep.

It’s a far better legacy to say “I tried that myself.” rather than “I denied that to myself.”

To Fly Like an Eagle..You Must Be Willing to Work Like a Dog

Fly-Like-an-Eagle

Many new entrepreneurs and some long timers, look around to see other businesses succeeding and wonder why theirs haven’t taken off. Some assume those businesses were lucky, had great connections, or had tons of money to advertise. That may be true in a few cases, but for the majority this is far from the truth.

The reality is, most follow close to if not to the letter of a success formula (KUSA) that I discovered years ago. The key ingredient in the formula is action! Action is another word for work. No matter how you slice it, the only time play comes before work is in the dictionary. You must be willing to put the work in first. And not just any work. It must be planned, purposeful and effective work. Working for the sake of doing work keeps you busy, but you don’t accomplish very much except get you tired.

The most work and the most fear is at the beginning. But you must BEGIN! A race was never won a spectator. You have to get in and start running. Once you get moving less energy is needed to keep moving. Basic physics tells us that in order push something across the floor we first have to overcome the friction, the resistance to change. That is also true for us. I believe that’s nature’s way of seeing if we’re really serious.

Every new height you’re able reach is made possible because of the work in did in the previous one. If you truly want to sore like an eagle then be willing to work like a dog. Willing doesn’t mean you always will, it just mean when you need to you will. No complaining, no hesitation just grind it out.

Best wishes on your success!

Entrepreneurial Secret #06

Entrepreneurs Secret #6

It’s Not the Steps you take…

The process you took, how long it took, or who you took is not as important as the impressions you left on the lives of those you impacted on the way. The media likes to glorify the superstars, the millionaire before age 13, the persons who was able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, the girl or guy who was first in this or that group. Those are, or would be great accomplishments. The problem is, like most things in life we forget about them or they becomes common place. No one is impressed that you can talk to your friends on a phone that you can carry around and it’s not connected to the wall. At one point in time that was impressive.

The only true thing in life that lasts is the impact we have on the lives of others. It could be one person or 1 million people. The few degrees of separation that exists between people can cause a person who has only directly impacted one person can now indirectly have a profound impact on the lives of millions. We see it in the current day lives of religious speaker Joyce Myers, television host Oprah Winfrey, and software billionaire Bill Gates and his non-profit foundation, just to name a few. The manner in which they now leave an impression on the lives of others is unmistakable and will last well beyond their life.

As entrepreneurs, we should be striving to leave a positive impact on the lives of our family, employees, and our customers. They will be our true measure of success or failure. Is your family or employees happy to see you come or see you go? Are your customers having more problems since they chose you or has their lives become easier? If we are not focusing on adding value to those we serve then we are by default taking value from them. Remember, Those who take more than they give, at some point will be required to give it all.
